“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...”Psalm 26:7 Vol.5, No.1 January 1996 Dear Family of God: A new year means - NEW THINGS - "Oh come on, Pastor, how much more are we in for?" When changes continually take place (especially with God), it can look bad for a time. But remember, we are not to give place to the devil. Instead, we must reflect on where God has brought us from. In the spiritual sense, the new things HAVE been glorious and lasting. Was it pleasant to go through? NO! But if you study the life of Paul, you will find that over and over He rejoiced in ALL he went through. So in spite of all the NEW THINGS that happened in 1995, we can look forward to even more wonderful new things in 1996 because the Lord is being glorified through it all. Though we suffered much loss in 1995 toward the building program, the Lord WILL be faithful to bless beyond what we have experienced. We must walk by faith. With all that revival has brought us, why should we complain about a few set-backs? One thing that helps me is to remember "My life is not my own." If your life is not yours, then who do you think you are to tell God how things should be done or when they should be done? Also, "the battle is not yours, but the Lord's." THANK GOD! Here all along I thought I was battling. I think rather that we are just in the midst of a battle with spiritual forces. He didn't say we would escape the battle; only we wouldn't be hurt in the battle that His angelic host is fighting on OUR behalf. I do believe we will see the greatest blessings in 1996 that the true church has ever experienced. I have learned at this point not to try and figure out except what He wants me to know and to do. That is enough in itself. Praise the Lord for this wonderful time of history. For the first time in my life I feel like a part of history. No matter what happens from now on, I simply know I have done my best. May this year prove to be the same for you. DO YOUR BEST FOR THE LORD, not for any other reason, no not one! In Christ,
