A THANKFUL
HEART
by Helen
Steiner Rice
Take nothing for granted, for whatever you do
The "joy of enjoying" is lessened for you
For we rob our own lives much more than we know
When we fail to respond or in any way show
Our thanks for the blessings that daily are ours
The warmth of the sun, the fragrance of flowers,
The beauty of twilight, the freshness of dawn,
The coolness of dew on a green velvet lawn,
The kind little deeds so thoughtfully done,
The favors of friends and the love that someone
Unselfishly gives us in a myriad of ways,
Expecting no payment and no words of praise
Oh, great is our loss when we no longer find
A thankful response to things of the kind,
For the joy of enjoying and the Fullness of living
Are found in the heart that is filled with Thanksgiving.
JUDGMENT OF
MERCY
By John
Frost
Oh, America, America, you have
tasted the prosperity
And protection of God. His hand has caressed you.
His heart has panted after you. His righteousness
has
Honored your forefathers faithfulness. Yet
your beauty
Is now covered in wrinkles of
wickedness. You have not
Cast Bread upon the waters, but you have mocked
God and cast your perversions upon the waters. In
His
Longsuffering He has tasted your fruit. In His
love He now
Saturates your land with His
merciful tears. You shall
No longer reap the fruit of your forefathers, but
as
Lightning would flash in the sky, so shall your
security
Escape you. Oh, America, America, your flag and
Its traditions shall tumble to
the ground. Oh, America,
America, God truly shed His Grace on thee.
America,
America, Hear God's Final plea. It was grace that
raised
You and only by His grace shall He now save you.
