WHY AM I SO MISERABLE?

(2 Corinthians 10:6 KJV) "And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."

Why am I so miserable? Because I cannot stop disobedience! The word "Revenge" = ekdikeo (Greek) It means "to vindicate"! Until the Saints of God stand up and obey the Word of Truth, the Christians will continue to have defeats in the battle.

WHY ARE CHRISTIANS SO MISERABLE AND DISCOURAGED? THEY CAN’T STOP DISOBEDIENCE.

In this present hour God is dealing with the internal conquest of the Christians. We want to see the fulfillment of the Gospel. But before the disobedience of the world can be dealt with, the obedience of God’s people must be complete. We don’t like this. It is easier to complain about the things that are taking place. But the Lord did not tell us the world would humble themselves, pray, and seek God’s face. He said if His people would walk in repentance of their carnal ways, God would bring forth a healing. You see God has no problem healing the land. God’s problem is the worldliness, lust, self-will, disobedience, unbelief, stubbornness, and rebellion of His own people.

Today the Spirit of God is sending fires of judgment on the Christian people. It is called a baptism of fire!! God wants us to confess the sins and to ask Him to remove them from us. But how many are preoccupied with making money, sports, buying and selling, partying, looking for their next vacation? People have manipulated God with so much mixture they don’t know what is of God any longer. They have lost their only true salvation. They can’t stop disobedience.

(Numbers 13:33-14:2) "And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. 2And all the children of Israel murmured " Giants huh! Well, guess what? The giants are back. They are demons of self-pity. What must we do?

(I Thessalonians 5:11-14) "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 12And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves. 14Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men."The minute we experience disappointment, the devil assigns a demon to whisper lies to us about how cruelly and unjustly we have been mistreated. All you need to do is listen, and poof – a giant in your life!

The Bible gives us no liberty to feel sorry for ourselves. Instead, we are to encourage and edify one another in the Lord. This text makes it very plain not to have sympathy, but compassion. Compassion EXHORTS – to call forth truth, sometimes with warning. Self-pity is idolatry – turning the focus on ourselves, concentrating on us and our feelings. Self-pity keeps us trapped in the past.

(Isa 43:18-19 KJV) "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. {19} Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."

God is now making a way. His Glory is coming to the body. The purging is coming through.

The children of Israel saw the sons of Anak as giants and saw themselves as grasshoppers. Satan will fill your mind with your smallness and weakness so you won’t fight back. The Lord wanted to bring His people into the Promise and bless them beyond their imaginations, but they were burdened with self-pity and they became miserable because they could no longer receive from God. But Caleb said, "We are well able to overcome them."

Are you loved? Are you special? Are you valuable? Are you living in righteousness? Then why limit God by your rotten thinking? Edify yourself. Ask and you shall receive. You will never make it without a great deal of help from God. But if you have a negative attitude about yourself, even when He does try to help you, you won’t receive it.

Self-pity produces fretting. We are moving into greater darkness. All that Paul stated about the last days is upon us. Men are lovers of themselves; immoral, perverse, violent, covetous. All of these and more will exceed our worst nightmare. Every form of communication, the newspapers, radio, television, books, magazines and the internet will continue to reveal Satan and His works. This is what he wants. He hates to be ignored. But what about the Christian believer?

(John 21:21-22) "Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? 22Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me." Jesus told Peter to, "mind his own business." Minding other peoples business will keep us under the giants of jealousy, envy, anger, hostility and other mental objects comparing ourselves to others will bring us no understanding (2 Cor.10:12).

So what are we to do? DON’T FRET! Don’t worry about what other people get away with. We are commanded to think about the lovely and good things about others. I am not talking about being stupid and ignoring that which destroys us. I am talking about resisting the devil who is determined to get our eyes off Jesus and on him. Get the victory through prayer over harmful emotions and attitudes. You don’t change a thing by fretting about evil. It grieves the Lord and everyone around you. Get free of the garbage that drags you down. Get into the promises of God and forget about the carnal things.

The Lord demands that we change, get out of ourselves. Let Him mold you, shape you. You say, "I’ve gone as far as I am going!" What makes you think you can stay at that level? Our willingness to change is contingent on letting go of our will and doing His. Unless we continue, we become lethargic and unusable, eventually chaff, reprobates.

The whole purpose for the Book of Ecclesiastes is to teach that without proper respect for life and reverence for God, all of life is vanity and vexation of spirit. Why respect and reverence? Well, if you lose control of your temper and make wrong decisions and don’t make things right, you will forfeit respect and reverence. It is going to take more than wisdom (which King Solomon had) in this day. We must have respect and reverence. We need the mind of Christ and the walk of the Spirit. He has been teaching us how to get it, how to use it, and how to live with it. All Godly character is rooted in obedience. Anything in our lives without obedience will bring disorder and misery. There will be no liberty to vindicate the disobedience of this world nor to gain the victory over it.

Get ready to revenge disobedience! Fulfill your call and obey! The giants are coming. Your decision to obey God affects other people, and your decision to disobey God affects other people. Your choices either open the gates of hell and close the windows of heaven, or close the gates of hell and open the windows of heaven.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO STOP YOUR MISERY AND DISCOURAGEMENT? OBEY THE SPIRIT OF GOD!
