Got Vision? Don’t Lose It Why do people die spiritually? These days most of those who are giving up on God are willingly committing spiritual euthanasia. They just want someone to put them out of their misery. Some are not even conscious of how much their flesh is causing them to commit spiritual suicide. Regardless of the manner of spiritual death, the absence or obstruction of spiritual vision is what causes those results. (Proverbs 29:18 KJV) “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” God gave Jesus to die for you so that you would not perish. If you are perishing, you must be missing Jesus somehow. Jesus does not just give you enough to get by every day, He will always do exceedingly, abundantly, and far above all you can ask or think. You are more than a conqueror through Christ who gives you strength. He will perfect that which concerns you. If you don’t believe what you just read, then you don’t believe what God says. If you don’t believe what God says, then you have lost your vision. If you have lost vision and victory, or even the hope for them, I have a word of instruction for you: (Matt. 6:33-34 KJV) “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Seek Him with all that is with in you. Seek Him in His word. Seek Him in His house. Seek Him in His people. You will find Him when you seek Him with your whole heart. When you find Him, you will regain vision if you follow what He says. These days there is so much to do in life, but still you must not lose sight of why you are here and of Whose you are. (Luke 10:38-42 KJV) “Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Vision can be lost by giving in to sin, but the most common way vision is lost is by losing sight of Christ. In most cases the former follows the latter. Who, or what, is worthier to be sought after than our Lord? A mate? Money? Has anyone ever been to you what Jesus Christ has? Has your striving for monetary gain brought you peace and contentment? The Lord promises that all these things will be added to you if you follow the vision that He has for your life. Put your trust in the creator and not in the things created. (1 Tim. 6:6-7 KJV) “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” If you don’t have vision, take the time to sit at His feet and listen. If you do have vision, do the same so that you don’t lose it. -Kurt Thurston January Newsletter 2001 | Pharisees & Counselees | Big Business | Pastor's Journal January 2000 Got Vision?
