That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving... Psalm 26:7 Vol. 11, No. 10 October 2002 Dear Family of God: I must take this time to give God more glory and honor. We have just gone through a tremendous summer of pain and suffering as God goes deeper in our lives. However, in the midst of all this we have had miracles: Four to be exact! And I will praise the Lord through this testimony. It started in June. A member of our church, Jim, was diagnosed with tumors in his lower lip. He was scheduled on a Monday morning to have them surgically removed. When he arrived, the Doctor could not find them. PTL. July – our daughter-in-law, Rebekah, had been having immune problems for months. She was sent to a specialist. He diagnosed her with an under-active thyroid. He then sent her to another specialist in another city. This was several weeks later because it is difficult to get in to see these people. By the time she arrived and was checked, not only was the thyroid regulated, but also it was working perfectly. PTL. End of July – our son Chad, one of the pastors of LWCF, was diagnosed with a growth on his lymph nodes in his neck. He also was sent to a specialist. The growth was evident by simple touch. Before he was given a CT scan, he felt the growth literally disappear. The CT scan proved there was no growth. PTL. August – our granddaughter, Caitlyn, 10 months old, had been diagnosed 8 months earlier with hydrocephalus. This is not uncommon in newborns; however, Caitlyn continued to grow worse. Over the months she was seeing several specialists regularly and was categorized in the 1% range of infants with this disorder. It was becoming so evident things were not right as she was not developing properly. By the end of July the doctors demanded she be operated on the brain. As the church had been praying consistently and we had already experienced other miracles, her father, Chad, held out believing God would act. Nonetheless she was scheduled for surgery on August 28 at 9:00 am at Riley Children’s hospital with the best specialists available. On August 27 she was given one last CT scan prior to the operation. You guessed it – there was nothing wrong with her. She had been miraculously healed. All her physical signs changed and immediately she began acting like a normal child of 10 months. PTL. I tell you all these wonderful events to encourage you through all you have experienced this past year. Our family and church stood in the word of the Lord over and over again. We wanted to know if God would allow these devastating events to be carried out to the full, but He told us over and over again – MIRACLES were going to take place. And indeed they have. Now we wait for the next, and the next, and the next. The Lord is truly bringing us to a greater place than we have ever experienced and it is not over. Our son and daughter–in-law could not conceive this child. When it happened we heard the Lord say, “She would be an example of God’s greatness for the church.” And truly we have seen the mighty hand of God reveal himself through the toughest time our family has ever experienced. I give all the glory and honor the Lord Jesus Christ, My Savior and My Lord. In Christ,
