Our Inheritance Ezekiel 44:28 (KJV) “And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.” God is now helping us with the inheritance. Verse 28 says, “I am the inheritance.” Not just heaven, but Christ Jesus. The goal is God! (John 14:6) “I am the way, the truth, the life and no one comes to the Father but by me.” --To the Father. {Put yourself in God’s place = “I am giving my son for you.” And we say, “Oh, how wonderful, I am getting a mansion and acres of diamonds and gold.” How would you like it if all your spouse wanted was your money and possessions?} We do this with God. We want what we want. Jesus says in Jn. 14:3 “I prepare a place for you, that where I am you my be also.” He is not saying, “I want you to be in heaven” but “I want you to be with me.” Where I am. Where is He? He is in the center of God: His will, His heart and His being. How would you feel if someone was coming to meet you and you passed them by just to have their possessions? What does this show about the person? The Lord wants to bring us to Himself because in Him are the riches of God. You believe in God; believe also in me. “I want you to be with me.” The Lord loves us, but we love heaven! We have to get to know Jesus!!! Would you be happy in heaven without Jesus? Test your heart. Do you really need Him? If we could experience the love of Christ, nothing else would matter. Jesus is a person. And He is all we NEED! If you have Him, you have everything. But don’t get them mixed up. If you have the man, you have it all. Where is your heart? What if we are tested with destruction of our things? Will we still want Him? Sure He has all the wealth, but He decides what to do with it. We really don’t understand nor do we believe that Jesus is truly the Son of God. Psm.2:7 God says, “I will declare, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.” That day has three parts because Jesus was called the “Son of God” three different times: When He was born of the Virgin Mary – “He shall be called the Son of God” When He was baptized in water – “This is my Son.” Rom. 1:4 “Declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.” So three times God called Him “Son.” This is also true of us. When we are born-again we are called “Son.” When we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, we are called “Son.” And when we are raised from the dead we will be called “Son” through the adoption of our body, we are declared to be the sons of God. So God said concerning His Son, who made all things, who has authority over all things, who rules all things – (Jn.1:3) “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” He upholds all things by the Word of His power. And God said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” And so a “helpmeet” is being made today – one suitable for meeting His needs. If Christ did not have needs, He wouldn’t need us. When Adam was created, he had all things, but there was no helpmeet for him. Church – we have all things, but what we need is Christ Jesus. He wants one like Him. And we need to want to be like Him. Our inheritance is Christ! Nothing else is needed. Now did Adam love His wife? It doesn’t say. Even after she tricked Him? What do you think after 930 years? Do you think Adam would trade Eve for the whole earth? Jesus doesn’t want to find another. He wants someone to love! The person is important. If He is with us and we have Him, then we have everything. God said to the Priests, I will be your inheritance, let the rest have the land, but I want you. This is why we go through the pains that we do: To be made a helper suitable for Him. Were you suitable for Him when you first met Him? You had all kinds of problems. Do you think He wants to marry a problem. (Don’t rush into marriage!) Jesus says many times, “to the overcomer.” That is not something we obtain. That is a way of life. Overcoming is not the goal. All of us have hurdles to jump. Well, the bar is being raised today. Without problems we won’t grow and increase in Him. As long as you jumped those obstacles, then you overcame. Find out where you missed it and get back in the game. It is not what you confess – it is life. It is not wining or losing. It is winning every day. And if you don’t, it isn’t because you don’t have the capacity, because none of us do. It is because you don’t believe. “And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” (John 1:4) You must believe that God can give you the victory. Once you don’t believe then you are overwrought with confusion. You won’t know where you are going or what you are doing. Your pain will be meaningless. You will feel hopeless. But when you come to the Lord, then you must determine in Jesus Christ that you are fed up with the half-hearted walk, that you can overcome in him – by asking for His power and wisdom, and that you won’t give up until you receive total victory over any area. THEN your life will be made ready for Him. How will you know? When you get down on your face and you are praying until the peace of God comes. Then you know you have done all you can do at that time. You are an overcomer. You are made ready. Your inheritance is the Lord. And the next time you do the same thing, and you keep doing it time after time. 1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that is we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” Once you pray through to assurance you will have peace. Hold steady. Don’t stop. You will receive in that day. -Pr.
