Shaking of the Heavens and the Earth Hebrews 12:26-29 “Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. 27And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 29For our God is a consuming fire.” God shall shake the earth, the sea, and the dry land. God shall shake the heavens God shall shake all nations. The wealth of the nations shall come (desire). God shall fill His house with glory. The things that have been created, the things that can be shaken, shall be removed. The things that cannot be shaken shall remain. We shall receive a kingdom that cannot be moved. We must understand there is no secure place in heaven or on earth. The only secure place is the Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:7 “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,” The shaking is occurring now. The next thing to take place is to see the extent to which God will permit evil to vaunt itself before He puts an end to sin and brings in everlasting righteousness. First God permits sin to reach into the heavens. Then God will shake the heavens and the earth so that all that is not founded in Christ will be cast out of the Kingdom and TRUTH will prevail. Revelation 12:4 “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.” The forming of Christ in the Saints in these days is resulting in a violent shaking of the heavens and the earth. The shaking is necessary if God’s people are to be reconciled to Him. Daniel 8:9-10 “And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. 10And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. God will permit the forces of hell to reach up to heaven and cast down to the ground some of its force.” To understand the plan of redemption, we see that the work of God begins in the highest heavens. Evil must be cast down from the heavens before it can be cleansed from the universe. Daniel 8:11 “Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.” The work of evil or the antichrist spirit today is seeking an equal place with the Lord Jesus Christ. This will prevent people from being saved. Only a remnant shall be delivered. The remnant will have the authority to admit people into the Kingdom and to deny people entrance to the Kingdom. (Joel 2:32). It is getting more and more difficult to pray through today. But in the hour of darkness no man will be able to work. It will be the most devastating time the world has ever known. Our prayers are stopped by the principalities of the heavens. We are accustomed to breaking through to God by the blood of the Lamb anytime we want. But the day is fast approaching when evil will have attained maturity and its authority to stop the church will be unfathomable. (Vrs. 12) This will be allowed to take place because of the rebellion in the hearts of God’s people. Truth will be cast down ,representing the practice of lies over truth. The question is how long do we have to deal with this problem? The answer, until God is satisfied that the holiness of God’s people is properly restored and consecrated. Then God will completely remove sin and create a world of righteousness where all creation is reconciled to Him. Daniel 9:24 “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” What a marvelous promise for the future: “To finish the transgression. To make an end of sin.” Think of this! “To bring in everlasting righteousness.” The 2300 days tell us that the shaking, the giving of authority and power to Satan and his followers is under the strict control of Father and shall have an absolute time. There is coming a strict regulation of revival during the rise of evil. Antichrist will prevail and great tribulation shall take over. All of this will be at the Word of the Lord. (Rev. 11:3,7,11) Only in the Lord Jesus Christ will there be security, peace, and joy in the days we are now living in. The “everlasting righteousness” of which God speaks is the Lord Jesus Christ as He is formed in the Saints of God. And this shall continue until all are filled with Christ. But this cannot come to pass until everything that is not of Christ has been shaken out of the heavens and the earth. The entire Scripture tells us of warfare. The Old Testament is filled with accounts of war against human beings. The New Testament warfare is no longer against people, but against demons, and rulers and authorities of darkness (Eph. 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh & blood.”) The formation of Christ in the Saints is the formation of a great and powerful army of Saints. With Christ as the head, that army will invade the forces of darkness to drive unclean spirits from the earth. (Joel 2:11) We are now beginning to see the expressions of Satan’s nature as never before in the earth. Every filthy, perverse practice that can be imagined by Hell is filling the cities of the earth. If we want to be spared, then we must keep our eyes on the Lord Jesus, setting our affections and treasures in Heaven above, not on the earth. We must learn our positions of warfare, even as we learn the positions of the powers of the air. If we do not close our ears and eyes from hearing and seeing evil, we will not see or hear the glory of Jesus coming to the earth. In order for Christ to come forth in our lives, we must intensify the spiritual warfare. Revelation 12:7-9 “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Evil personalities still remain over us. But when a company of saints rise up in the splendor of Christ, the Father will give power to Michael and his angels to throw down these powers of darkness into the earth. Then the earth will become a dreadful place to live. (People that can’t get the victory are coerced to giving in to works of darkness.) “Neither was their place found anymore in heaven.” It is hard to imagine. These powers have been there from who knows when? They will be forced out of their territory, their ancient positions. They will be angry. The war we are in is not about power, but TRUTH. Satan can only work by deception. He must persuade people into lies. Before we can have authority over darkness, we must be people of truth, without lies or deception. We can only overcome by the blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony, and loving not our life unto death. Satan keeps stealing our testimony every time we don’t speak or live in truth. There is no condemnation to those who live under the blood, but Satan is always questioning the authority of God’s Word over our lives. We must proclaim what God proclaims no matter what our circumstances. We must know the hope we have in Christ no matter what. We cannot overcome by the traditions of men. We must overcome by absolute truths. But we also must love not our life to the death. We must endure to the end no matter what. We must give God everything without question. If we attempt to save ourselves in any area, we cannot overcome Satan. He will keep returning to the one area we don’t give to God. If we keep living in the earthly realm, we will not be able to survive. “Behold, I come quickly, hold fast that which you have, that no man take your crown.” (Rev. 3:11) We are in the process of receiving a kingdom that cannot be moved. Therefore “let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.” (Heb. 12:28) Center your hopes and affections on heavenly things. Keep your treasures where Christ rules in the heavenly realm. The righteous must run into the Lord to be safe. Christ alone is our rock that cannot be moved. -Pr.
