“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...” Psalm 26:7

Vol. 12, No. 8 August 2003

Dear Family of God:

Eph. 5:16 “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

How much longer – How much longer!! It is so close you can feel it at the door of your heart. These are the most serious of times. We better know what God is up to and follow closely. We must be listening every moment.

How are we to redeem the time? The scriptures explain this to us. Colossians 4:5-6 tell us redeeming the time is by walking in wisdom toward those that are outside of Christ’s body and being able to speak with grace in answering everyone.

To redeem something is to buy up. So we are instructed to store up the time by using our resources that have been given to us. We are to buy up wisdom. As with the church of Laodicea we are instructed to buy up of the Lord so we are not empty and shameful at His coming.

The word “time” is interesting. It stands for a particular period or season. I do believe in what God is telling His people. The preparation time we are now in is extremely important and we ought to obey diligently. The days are becoming clearer in regards to what God is doing with His church. It truly does require much wisdom and understanding so that we don’t step out ahead of God or don’t try to override Him.

I believe it is pertinent to be sensible about every decision we are making, seeking the Lord first and foremost, and not taking anything for granted.  And I do mean anything  that we do.

How precious are these moments He gives us. How rewarding to see His will done because the gates of hell will not prevail against His church. That is the church that is obeying His voice and diligently buying up all they need. The day is at hand, I believe, and perhaps not many days left for this current season or moment that God is extending to us.

In Christ,

Pr. Steve
