Get it Together - part 1 Luke 13:34 (KJV) “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!” From the days of Noah and Abraham, to as recently as yesterday, God has shown forth His faithfulness to every generation. He sends forth His word throughout the earth by using his servants empowered by the Holy Spirit. But, just as in times past, today we see history repeating itself, as many of those who proclaim to have faith in God refuse to come into unity with those whom God given apostolic authority. The title of Apostle cannot be earned; it is rather a mantle that is worn by those whom God has purposed to establish, direct, and oversee ministries that are to be effective and in right order. (Zec 13:7 KJV) “…Smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.” Jesus sent the prophets to prepare the way for His first coming, but men killed them. When Jesus came in the flesh Himself, men killed Him. And now that Jesus has risen from the dead and is establishing His order of preparation for His second coming, the antichrist spirit is again working overtime to bring down the authority structure of five-fold ministry, because the unity in that God-given structure will be the pivotal part of ushering in the next great outpouring of God. Saints must no longer live by their intellect, nor by their opinions, because God always does; “greater exceeding and abundantly above all we can ask or think.” Understand, we as Christians need the mind of the Holy Spirit or we may utter only deadly opinionated misconceptions that birth insubordination and divisions. 1 John 4:20-21 (KJV) “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” Even the most pious of saints have the potential to act murderously as Able did toward Cain, so we must choose to walk in the love, and the authority of Jesus Christ. The devil despises Gods authority and mans authority. That thief tricked us out of our authority in the Garden of Eden, but Jesus Christ died to give it back to us at Calvary. Even so, man must chose to walk in submission to God-given authority before he can see clearly how to walk in his own. Jealousy, selfish ambition, and hatred must still be nailed to our individual crosses before the vision for Kingdom structure can become synoptic between individuals. The word “synoptic” means to be seen together, or to share the vision, and that is what Jesus wants to establish by bringing us under His wings. Oh Jerusalem, don’t continue to put to death the very plans that the Lord has made to bring you together as an obedient bride, as a shining example to the world that Christ has come to establish His Kingdom for His second coming. Choose rather to get it together while there is still time.- -Kurt Thurston April Newsletter 2003 | Impurity | Get It Together part 1 | Progress of Maturity part 1 of 2 Pastor's Journal April 2002 | Present Day Fathers part 1 | Pillars and Posts part 1 of 3 |
