That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving... Psalm 26:7 Vol. 12, No. 1 January 2003 Dear Family of God: As the New Year dawns upon America, let us pray with a humble heart that the Lord will show His mercy once again. I don’t know how long God can do this with such a wicked society. But I know that He comes to save, not to destroy. Too many don’t want to obey and bring honor to the Lord. They just have to control their own destinies and believe that God will be honored. The greatest thing that God hates is a lying tongue, one that bears false witness and sows discord among the family of God. Lies come from born-again believers because they won’t deal with heart issues. They choose what they will be honest about, and what they won’t be honest about. But in this hour, if we are to remain a humble people, bringing honor to the Lord, then we must not, I say it again, we must not continue to lie and choose what we will be honest about!!! Discord comes because of lies and deception in the heart of mankind. Now the Lord knows this, so He protects us while we learn how to be honest in our words and actions. But for how long.? If we want to be changed, I believe the Lord will give us every opportunity and grant us grace to come through a transformation that will bring forth the glory and splendor of Christ to a dying world. But what about the brother that refuses to become honest, speaking the truth in love every place he is? That brother becomes more and more evil, speaking and acting in a way that becomes an abomination to God and to mankind. People will want to love you, but will find it difficult to love a person that is continually hateful and proud because he simply won’t be honest and above board in his living. We come to the throne of grace to find help for these and other problems. But we have to come. We have to be the one who reaches out to find help. Otherwise we sit and wallow in our pride and it becomes stinking. America, America, God shed his blood for thee. Oh, the blood of Jesus that washes me white as snow. We need to cry out for the mercy of God this year. Perhaps the Lord will show His awesome kindness to a people who deserve to be wiped out because of the lies and phoniness that America has become. May the Church rise up in honest integrity and accountability in every facet of society and let the world know that in Christ Jesus there is forgiveness and change to make us pleasing to our God. This kind of change is not easy to accomplish, but if we want to be true godly people, then we must come forth in honest behavior. May all that live in Christ Jesus have a blessed and meaningful New Year. And may we determine to be honest and above board in all that we say and do. In Christ,
