That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving... Psalm 26:7 Vol. 12, No. 10 October 2003 Dear Family of God: It is very difficult to trust anyone today. The world is in such a state of chaos no one knows what to believe and who to trust. This distrust has created a problem in the church. It desensitizes us so we don’t take to heart what God is saying through the prophets or the pastors or the teachers. In other words the message of God is not getting through! The lack of trust is so intense today that we don’t even trust ourselves. Some say, “How can I trust others when I can’t even trust myself?” That is good insight. For most of us we have been told over and over that we must trust the Lord no matter what. But if we have been desensitized and we are not taking to heart what God is saying, there is a problem in trusting the Lord. So I want to propose something a little different than what you have heard: We are coming into an unprecedented time with the presence of God before us. He has been examining us and changing us and protecting us. Things are without a doubt different in our lives today, regardless of the reason. GOD HAS BEEN IN CONTROL. And if we truly believe that to be true, that God has been in control. If we truly believe that God has been in control, i.e. if we can see a difference in our lives and if we are aware of the closeness of the Lord overseeing all that is taking place within us, then, it is time that we begin to hear the Lord say, “I can trust you!” Until we come to the place that God can trust us we will continue to be wishy-washy. In this new state of change that we have encountered God is putting His Spirit in control of all that we do and say. If we have said “Yes” to His Lordship, there comes a time when the Lord will trust us with His Kingdom. We have been training for reigning for a while now. Let us move to the next area of becoming one of the Lord’s entrusted servants. We can come to the place where He trusts us with what belongs to Him and what He entrusts we will treat with respect and honor and glory. In Christ,
