Take the Land

As we enter this New Year we must adjust our focus like never before.   It is going to take whole hearted devotion, as well as total trust in the Lord to enter into the promises of the Lord that are to be fulfilled in the very near future.  It is time to take note of where our time, our resources, and our affections are being spent.  It is time to make whatever adjustments are necessary to keep our hearts free from any worldly entrapments.

Matt 6:21 (KJV)  “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

We must not kid ourselves; no earthly possession is guaranteed to be ours from one day to the next.  We can try to hold on with every means known to man, and as tightly as one can, and still watch it all slip from our grasp.  It is always such a shock, and so disturbing to lose that which one has worked so hard to gain, but what has a man gained if what he has gained is temporal?  King Solomon said it this way, “What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?” (Eccl 1:3 KJV).  The focus for now should be upon the eternal treasures, not the earthly treasures.  If we remain focused upon the world and its dainties, we will be blinded to the harvest.

Gal 6:9 (KJV)  “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Cast off discouragement, for the season of reaping is before us.  Truly we shall reap where others have planted.  Even as we go forth planting, the plowmen shall overtake the reapers, and those that tread the grapes shall overtake him that sows the seed, and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt, as stated by the prophet Amos.  Consider the other option; we can camp out on the wrong side of the Jordan, where all we can do is look toward the promised land and wonder what it could be like on the other side.  That is the position of those who are convinced that they cannot defeat the giants, ever trying to reason within themselves that not moving forward is the safe thing to do.

Num 13:30  (KJV)  “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”

There is a promised land out there for Christians to take, and it is not a land that is to be added to our mass of earthly possessions.  This land is full of souls that need to know the love of Jesus and the life of His Spirit.  To take this land we must refocus and get the vision by the Spirit.  Our time, our resources, our passions must now be concentrated upon the increase of the Kingdom of God here on earth.  We shall reap the fruits of righteousness, and peace, and joy as the dominion, and the salvation of our God are ushered into the land.  Behold the fields are white with the harvest, it is time to take the land.
