“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...” Psalm 26:7

Vol. 13, No. 1 January 2004

Dear Family of God:

No, this is not a dream.  It really is a new year.  What once was science fiction is a living reality.  Do you remember what you were doing a year ago?  The days are so fast, I can hardly remember last month.  But one thing I will not forget:  It was one year ago, I severed my hand with a miter-saw.  It has forever changed my life.  You see, God did a miraculous thing in my life by allowing me to keep my hand – And YES, it works very well.  I have a grateful, grateful heart.  But there is something that affects me – I have almost constant pain – sometimes worse than others.  But I will not complain or murmur, because I still have a hand that works.  When I go to prayer and get with the Lord sometimes I just sit and rub it, but my mind is constantly going to the Lord and seeing how much He must hurt over what people did to Him.  His scares are eternal and I do believe He hurts every time He sees His children using their hands for something other than His purposes.  I believe His feet hurt every time one of  His own go places they are not suppose to go.  And most of all how His heart must hurt when His awesome love is rejected because people just want what they want without any concern for the greatest blessing the world can ever know – JESUS CHRIST.

You see, the Bible is totally accurate when it says, “He is touched by the feeling of our infirmities.”  He feels pain and sorrow just like you and I.   And it is because of this that the Lord’s Mercies never fail.  He is not a God who is oblivious to His people, who does not care about every detail of your life.  He not only cares about all we experience, He invites us to come to Him boldly when we need HELP!

Oh, yes, one more thing, this is going to continue until the end of the Millennial Reign of Christ.  He will continue to understand all that we go through until the New Heaven and Earth come down and death and sorrow and pain and everything that causes us to hurt will be abolished.

The Lord not only sees and understands our hurts, but He bears them along with us, understanding all we experience so we can come through to total victory.

Yes, I am grateful for my hand and also the pain (ouch).  Well, at least the hand.

In Christ,

Pr. Steve
