“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...” Psalm 26:7

Vol. 13, No. 10 October 2004

Dear Family of God:

I am rejoicing in the sufferings of Christ.  How can I do that?  Because I can see the hand of God moving on people’s lives.  When it is all about “me” it is difficult to hear and see God.  But when we are sacrificing for the sake of others there is nothing that can compare.  How is it you can tell true disciples?  They will have love!  But what does that mean?  It means they will care more about others than themselves.  That concern is quite evident.  Today the lack of discipleship is revealing that lack of true, righteous converts.  People are just stuck on themselves to the place they can’t see past their noses.

I believe the misery of many people will continue to increase until they get out of themselves.  Get out – reach out – do something for someone by asking the Lord to help you to care for others.  This is the only way you will know if you are a true disciple.

Remember, our only true and lasting inheritance is PEOPLE.  Not things, not money, not our professions, but PEOPLE.  People in our lives prove our love for God.  Jesus did not die to make us rich or give us American prosperity.  Jesus died for people – He died for the sins of the people of the world.  He died for you and everyone you know.

Why is there little evangelism today?  Because people have lost sight of their purpose and destiny.  It is PEOPLE.

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

In Christ,

Pr. Steve

Mercy in White Pants

Ever seen Mercy?

Not the flawed character of pity,

But real Mercy

Mercy that comes to your house

Asks you out to play,

Mercy that says,”No I don’t want it, but he does.”

I have,

I’ve seen Mercy in white pants.

Coldest, muddiest, dreariest day of the year

There they were,

Mercy in white pants

Blood and foul, stench and grime

Mercy in white pants

Walk a mile in my shoes?

Ha,

Walk a mile in my pants

My White Pants
