To Be Humbled – part 2 Deu 8:2-3 “And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, [and] to prove thee, to know what [was] in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. (3) And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.” The Lord says blessed are your eyes when they see and your ears when they hear. Today there is such a curse of seeing and hearing because of evil, but I want to be blessed by guarding the patience of Christ’s Word. Although some say it is not possible to have a place at the right hand of God and then be torn down, let me say this. It happens every day. We begin with Christ at salvation, by faith. But what is our daily effort to guard our crown? Daniel 8 tells us this antichrist spirit grows and grows until every living creature is shaken to the core. In the parable of the wheat and tares even though divine seed is planted in our hearts and lives, evil germinates and grows, the enemy is planting seeds of deception that grow along side the wheat. We are constantly bombarded with evil. Christ starts to grow in our life, but then growth can be choked out with deception if we don’t keep ourselves in the Lord and obey. The vine that does not bear fruit is cut out. If we go against the Words of Jesus Christ and lean on our own deductive reasoning, we can be torn down to the earth. This antichrist spirit cares little about you, but he will do all he can to destroy the Prince of the Hosts, which is the Lord Jesus Christ. He will take the daily sacrifice from the Lord. He is trying to take away the blood atonement from those who are accepting Messiah Jesus. The enemy wants to steal your protection and covering from the storms of life. How does he do this? By hindering your prayers: “It isn’t working.” By defiling the sanctuary (works of the flesh – lust, worldliness, pride). By filling your mind with depression so you won’t worship God. He will cause you financial hardship so you won’t tithe because he knows tithing is your protection from the destroyer. The destroyer comes to take your fruit, to cause you to cast it forth before it is time. Place the tithe first in your finances and watch – God WILL open the windows of heaven to pour forth blessings instead of curses – blessing enough to meet the need (KJV – “there shall not be room enough to receive it.”) This promise means “sufficiency.” I am not talking about the remnant who keep themselves in the Lord, for the antichrist cannot touch them because they live in the throne of God. I am referring to those who profess Christ yet walk in the ways of the world. They are a part of the Babylonian system. But, everyone is being shaken and tested by means of power and authority given to the antichrist spirit. God wants all rebellion dealt with. And when it gets so bad that you think you will lose it all, the Lord is simply waiting to see that you will call forth, “NOT MY WILL BUT YOURS BE DONE.” In agony Christ Jesus did this. Remember it is not about power. Jesus has all the power. It is about truth. Destroy the truth and you lose His power. The enemy will try to get you to do, say or think something that will get you away from the throne of God because the throne of God cuts away the rebellion and sin. There is only one protection from the spirit of antichrist. Our protection is the cross we carry behind the Lord Jesus. The cross attacks the self-will, the rebellion, and cuts away the sinful nature. Remember the way the Lord is leading us today; the experiences are to test us and humble us to reveal what is in our hearts. The Lord has come as judge to save us, not to destroy us but to save us that we might appear with Christ in the fullness of divine Glory. To be humbled is the greatest honor for the believer. It reveals the sovereign work of Christ over our lives. It produces meekness and understanding that brings forth joy and contentment and peace in the Kingdom of God. -Pr.
