Ministry Minded - part 1 of 3 Encouragement for the Body Ministers of the Lord are called to be tender: Strong convictions 1Sam. 24:5 (KJV) “5And it came to pass afterward, that David’s heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt.” Your tenderness moves God 2 Kin. 22:19 (KJV) 19Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD. When you minister you feel this way: Psa. 22:14 (KJV) 14I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. You will be misunderstood: Eph. 4:32 (KJV) 32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. What does it mean to be ministry minded? G5426 - phroneoô - to exercise the mind, set the affection on, be careful, be like, be of one, be of the same, let this mind, to regard, savour, think. Like minded Phil. 2:2 (KJV) 2Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Phil. 4:2 (KJV) 2I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. Christ minded Phil. 2:5 (KJV) 5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Perfect Phil. 3:15-16 (KJV) 15Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. To take Care Phil. 4:10 (KJV) 10But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. Not only is the heart associated with the activities of the mind and the will, but it is also closely connected to the feelings and affections of a person. Emotions such as joy originate in the heart. To be continued… -Pr. S. Chad Ross
