No Strings Attached – part 2 of 2

Love thy neighbor as thyself. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

We are not better than others. We should not forget where we have been. We should not forget where we have come from! We should move in mercy to those that are with us. Reach out to them. Don’t judge; don’t condemn.

Mark 10:14 (KJV) But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”

The Value of Life

On September 11, 2001, thirty-five hundred people lost their lives in an act of terrorism. We mourned because of the business men, firefighters, policemen, etc. that died. We mourned because of what these people did or because of what they had. Yet every day four thousand babies are killed through abortion. We don’t mourn them because they haven’t become anything or gained anything. But God mourns because of who they are and because of  their value of life.

Works look good but are not necessarily God. We should fear the Lord, not man. The rest of the Lord is in doing what He says, knowing that He is in control. The people of Israel could not rest. God gave them 40 years to rest from being in the hands of Pharaoh, but they always felt they had to be doing something. They did not have the understanding of who they were in God At the foot of the mountain they made an idol instead of realizing the presence of God in their midst They always complained that they didn’t have enough. They had manna and water from the rock, but it wasn’t enough because they did not have the revelation of the sovereign God.

Life is not about what we have or don’t have, what we do or don’t do. It is about who we are in Christ Jesus. He will meet our needs and what we do will be His will. We don’t need to worry about getting in trouble or what others will think. We have the Master on our side and He keeps us straight.

Rom. 8:9 (KJV) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

Does the Spirit of God dwell in us? Then we are in the Spirit.

We should recognize who we are and become who God wants us to be. May we cut the strings of Pharaoh and be free from the bondage of the fear of man. Fear the Lord your God! Whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
