Happy, Happy, Happy New Years.

Is it possible to be happy and live like we are today in this country?

Happy are you:

· Who continually hear God’s wisdom & seek after it.

· Who allow correction and chastening from the Almighty.

· Whose God is the Lord.

· Whose hope is in God.

· Whoever has mercy on the poor.

· Who fears the Lord without hardening his heart.

· Who endure hardship.

· Who suffer for righteousness’ sake.

You see, happiness has nothing to do with what is happening around us. It is a state of spirit, soul and body that allows God to be God in your life. I am not talking about the power of positive thinking. Happiness is doing what the Word of God tells us. It comes from the Spirit of God. Carnal happiness never lasts. We are being trained to rely totally upon the image of Christ in our lives so that whatever happens we can maintain a state of happiness.

Of course, things cause us to be down once in a while. Pressures mount and we react. But for the most part, we can if we so choose to maintain an attitude that allows Jesus to be Lord of all we think and are.

So Happy, Happy, Happy New Year. And may the “blessing” continue to flow all year long.
