“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...” Psalm 26:7

Vol. 19, No. 3   March 2010

The word tells us to “follow justice so you may live” (Deut.16:20).
It seems like every report we hear is unjust. Every decision that is being made on a local or global scale is unjust. What does it mean to follow justice? It means to go the way of righteousness. Everyone wants something for themselves and they don’t care how they obtain it as long as they get it. “It’s my right, I deserve this.” But that “right” is not what the Bible teaches. It teaches that we deny ourselves and consider others better than ourselves. We are to put others before our own interest. God is a just God. He will give to us what we need at just the right time.

I realize we are living in a time when everything is dramatically changing. Many believe as long as they are alright and can help others a little bit, then what is all the fuss about? Well, I will tell you. Your comfort zone is coming down. God is saying, “Enough of the self-seeking. Place Me first in your life and I will provide for you and take care of you because you belong to Me.”
I know it is tough to let go. Tell me about it. I feel like I have nothing tangible to hold on to most of the time. But I have the Lord. And I am holding as tight as I can as the storms continue to crash down all around us.

We are in a new day in which we will surrender all to be able to follow the Lord and His justice. Just remember: Luke 9:23 “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

In Christ,
