CONCLUSION:
Revelation is the unveiling of Christ to His church (Eph.3:3) The message of life will cause you to buckle under if you do not know Him who is the revelation of Jesus Christ.
What does it take for us to come into revelation? Revelation is an uncovering of that which is hidden. So I must ask the Lord to uncover my blinded eyes. I have to first admit I am blind before I can begin to see.
Revelation doesn't make you smarter than the rest. According to Rev.1:17 it causes you to be as a dead man so He can live in you to produce power, not intellect, but power to live every day in victory.
We need revelation. It shows us how to live. If I do not live Christ, how can I expect others to live? Revelation is so I can edify others. It comes only by the Spirit. If it is by the flesh, you become a Pharisee. You will have knowledge, but knowledge puffs up. Revelation by the Spirit produces love and love edifies. Unless my heart is enlightened I have nothing to offer others except carnal, humanistic living.
We live in the information age. But revelation is not information. Revelation brings change (2 Cor. 3:18).
To the seven churches of Revelation Jesus revealed Himself in a way that each of us must answer for: EPHESUS: (2:1) Speaks of the right hand of authority; of keeping us from the deception that lurks all around by remembering where we have fallen from -- our relationship from him through the sin nature of Adam. The deception in this church was that they had authority without the church and without submission to leadership. ALTERNATIVE: The light will be removed. PERGAMOS: (2:12) the word to divide soul and spirit. We cannot walk in mixture any longer. We must know and discern spirit from flesh and from the demonic. No control except Christ alone. ALTERNATIVE: Jesus Will use this word against you. THYATIRA: (2:18) baptism of fire to burn out everything that is not His presence. We are tested, purged and chosen in the fire, and we become an offering of righteousness so that we can become fire to others. ALTERNATIVE: seduction and false fire that will destroy many lives. SARDIS: (3:1) seven spirits of God (Isa.11:2) and Jesus the truth. It is not enough to walk in the Spirit. We must know what it is He is doing. The sevenfold spirit of God is all I need to relate to God and to others. ALTERNATIVE: spiritual death, unrenewed minds, carnality. SMYRNA: (2:8) resurrection power to cause you to live and produce Christ in order to overcome. How does it come? Through sufferings. ALTERNATIVE: NONE! LAODICEA: (3:14) (a) the AMEN -- He gets the last Word (b) the FAITHFUL -- He is. We are not. (c) the TRUTH -- Walk in truth Lukewarmness comes because you do not walk in truth. ALTERNATIVE: rejected by God and cast out.
PHILADELPHIA: (3:7) holiness of God. His character is more than love. It is Holy. It is His nature. I am not holy. He is. His holiness produces worship.
Worship will be the outcome of becoming the revelation church. We will sing three kinds of songs: 1. Song of Holiness 2. Song of His Majesty 3. Song of the Eternal One
REDEMPTION WILL BE COMPLETE. IT WILL ALL BE GLORIOUS! |
